ARTEMIS Brokerage Event![]()
February 14 & 15, 2008
Düsseldorf, Germany
ARTEMIS-JU (Joint Undertaking) is a Joint Technology Initiative with a ‘public private partnership’ between the European Commission, the participating Member States*, and ARTEMISIA - the association for R&D actors in the field of ARTEMIS.
ARTEMIS stands for Advanced Research and Technology for EMbedded Intelligence and Systems.
The ARTEMIS-JU will officially exist in early February of 2008.
ARTEMIS-JU is a new R&D programme that will exist in parallel to the FP7, EUREKA and National programmes and will launch a call for project proposals every year. We expect that the first call will be launched in April this year. For the first call a shorter procedure will be followed with only the Full Project Proposal (FPP) phase without the Project Outline (PO) phase in advance, making it possible that selected projects could possibly start in the fourth quarter of this year.
The participation is open to all those with interest in the ARTEMIS-JU first call, but limited to organizations (R&D actors) with a clear intention to contribute to projects. Due to the location and logistics the maximum number of participants is limited. The admission fee for this event is free of charge for ARTEMISIA members and 300 Euro for non-members. In the case you are not an ARTEMISIA member you have to register via the hotel form to pay the 300 Euro fee. You will receive then at the hotel desk a voucher for the participation in the event.
* The participating founding Member States are: Belgium, Denmark, Germany, Estonia, Ireland, Greece, Spain, France, Italy, Hungary, the Netherlands, Austria, Portugal, Romania, Slovenia, Slovakia, Finland, Sweden and the United Kingdom. More EC countries and associated countries are expected to join over time. Member States and Associated Countries members of the ARTEMIS-JU are referred to as “ARTEMIS member States”

ITEA 2 - Using ICT to deal with major societal challenges
Our 2007 Symposium took place in the Berliner Congress Center (bcc) in Berlin, Germany on Thursday 18 and Friday 19 October. It provided 466 participants with a unique opportunity to gain an insight into one of Europe 's most important and strategic ICT initiatives.
The symposium programme was scheduled around this year’s overall theme: ‘Using ICT to deal with major societal challenges’. On Thursday, our executive team presented programme achievements, progress to date and looked ahead. On Friday, presentations included industrial and political viewpoints on the symposium theme and the role of ITEA 2.
Focusing on practical results
At the exhibition team members of 45 ITEA / ITEA 2 projects and 22 Non-ITEA booths demonstrated the impact of their work. Three selected projects presented their results in the plenary session on Thursday afternoon: AGILE, AMEC and HD4U.
ITEA Achievement Award 2007
The ITEA Board instituted the ITEA Achievement Award to reward high-level technical contributions based on true European collaboration that leads to significant results and thus further promote the programme and its goals. Each year this prestigious honour highlights a highly successful project that represents best practice. Major factors in deciding are innovation, exploitation and dissemination. The ITEA Achievement Award 2007 was presented to the winning teams during the symposium dinner on Thursday evening. The Bronze Award went to the project team of HD4U, the Silver Award to AGILE, and the Gold Award to the project team of AMEC.
Exhibition Award 2007
The Exhibition Award 2007 went to the team that communicated the purpose, objectives, goals, and – if already possible – achievements and results of its project in the most understandable and vivid way. The Bronze Award went to the project team of AGILE, the Silver Award to ANSO, and the Gold Award to the project team of NUADU.
